The exhibit "Wohlstand hat viele Gesichter” (“Prosperity has many faces"), which can be seen during the 9th Scientific Conference on Organic Agriculture, shows that organic businesses are not only involved in ecological issues, but are also socially active, communicate knowledge on agriculture and nutrition, create jobs, and create networks – in short, they contribute in a multitude of ways to long term regional development and to the quality of life.

Based on ostensible practical examples and a variety of background information, the exhibit shares the results of the interdisciplinary research project “Regionaler Wohlstand neu betrachtet” (“A new look at regional prosperity”), lead by Prof. Dr. Dr. Martina Schäfer of the Zentrum Technik und Gesellschaft der TU Berlin. Focusing on the Berlin-Brandenburg region, the social achievements of the organic industry and perceptions in their local and institutional surroundings were examined. The demands of consumers of organic products, as well as the framework within which the organic industry operates, were considered.

The innovative presentation of the project results on a series of rotating pillars is at once playful and invites interaction, encouraging observers to investigate further.

The exhibit has been shown in conferences, conventions and trade shows across Germany since September 2006, as well as at open house days and local fairs. The exhibit can be booked for these and similar events until July 2007 (Contact: Veronika Hilbermann).
